Commercial glass for shops, offices and buildings
A display window cracked overnight on a busy artery, a lobby door whose closer (ferme-porte) no longer pulls it shut, a row of fogged thermos units, the sealed glass units, on the eighth floor. In commercial glass, the disruption usually costs more than the pane. We connect merchants, office tenants, landlords and condo syndicates with independent commercial glass contractors who secure, measure and quote the work. Choose the job below, or describe the building and how urgent it is.

Street level
Storefronts, glass entrance doors and closers
Storefront glass
Cracked display panes, a fogged thermos above the door or a damaged transom. The opening is made safe first, then measured for tempered, laminated or insulated glass.
Glass doors and door closers
A closer that slams or won't latch, a sagging aluminum door, worn pivots or cracked door glass. Usually one part needs replacing, not the whole entrance.
Emergency board-up
After a break-in or an accident, a temporary panel (placardage) closes the opening so the business can lock up. The permanent glass is ordered once it's measured.
Much of Montreal's storefront work happens on commercial arteries, many of them represented by an SDC (société de développement commercial). On a busy street, sidewalk space, deliveries and your opening hours all shape the job, so settle the timing with the pro before the day.
Above the street
Curtain walls, building windows and office partitions
Curtain wall and commercial windows
A cracked or fogged unit in a curtain wall (mur-rideau) or an office window can usually be replaced on its own. Reaching it at height is the main planning question.
Office partitions and interior glass doors
Fixed glass walls, meeting-room doors and interior sliding glass doors for offices, clinics and apartments, in clear, frosted or laminated glass.
Fogged thermos units
When fog sits between the panes of a thermos in an office or mixed-use building, the glass can often be replaced without touching the frame around it.
Residential buildings
Rental buildings, plexes and condos
Landlords and property managers
Thermos units, screens, locks and balcony doors across several flats, grouped into one request and planned around July 1 and other lease turnovers.
Condo syndicates and co-owners
The City's permit file for a co-ownership building asks for a syndicate resolution or each co-owner's letter. Batch replacements start with that paperwork.
Plex balcony doors
Balcony doors and windows on every floor of a duplex or triplex, from a latch that won't catch to a new door, which in most boroughs means a permit.

Commercial glass questions
Where
Commercial glass across the island and both shores
Independent pros take commercial work downtown, along the neighbourhood arteries, in Laval and on the South Shore. Give us the address and we'll check who covers it.
Describe the building and how urgent it is
Tell us the address, the type of building, which glass or door is affected and whether the premises are secure. We pass it to an independent commercial glass contractor, who contacts you with next steps and a written quote, and we follow up so it doesn't go quiet.
