Drags, jumps its track, won't lock or lets in a draft? Rollers, track, latch and weatherstrip are replaced with the door in place.
Patio-door screens

Window screens

Each borough runs its own counter, with its own rules on materials and heritage façades. Check with your borough first, then order the door.

Eligible small plexes can receive a set amount per replaced patio door, with approval before the work. A thermos on its own doesn't qualify.

Hinged glass doors under a transom (imposte), one per floor, reached by outside stairs. Repair the original, or replace it within borough rules.
Porch and balcony screens
Screening for a gallery, or for a balcony door that stays open through July. Openings vary from floor to floor, so each is measured.

A cracked insert, a fogged thermos, a broken transom pane or a stained-glass panel. The glass is usually changed while the door stays.
Screen and storm doors
The contre-porte takes glass in winter and a screen in summer. Closers, handles, mesh and broken panes can all be repaired on it.
Glass broken after dark
Make it safe, photograph it, then cover the opening. The new pane is made to measure afterwards, so the board-up comes first.
