How do I measure a window for a new screen?

Measure where the screen will sit, not the glass: the inside of the frame or channel, width at three points and height on both sides. Older windows are rarely square, so write every number down. Note whether the screen goes inside or outside and how the old one was held, then photograph the whole window and the frame edge. The pro checks it all before making anything.
